What is the inch sewing foot good for ? That's a good question and here's a good answer. The inch foot was invented to make work less intensive and more fun. In the old days the sewer would have to labor intensivly measure and tape off all seams.Today, the inch foot gives a precise inch seam with very little effort.

Place your sewing machine on a straight stitch, use an 80/12 needle and a quality cotton thread. Place your foot on the edge of the fabric and sew, your result will be a perfect seam allowance.

Join the two pieces of fabric together simply by keeping the edge of the fabric along the edge of the inch foot. The distance from the edge of the foot to the center of the needle is inch. Making turns are no problem as the foot has red markers on it so you know just when to stop sewing and pivot to make your turn.
