The Walking Even Dual Feed Foot - What's This Foot Good For - Answers To Your Sewing Feet Questions

By Kevin Brown

Probably one of the strangest looking feet you will ever encounter! The walking/even /dual feed sewing presser foot does incredible things that you probably didn't know about. Whatever name you name it, this foot is a must have in your arsenal of sewing feet!

The walking even foot is used when sewing certain stretch fabrics, fabrics that need careful pattern matching, imitation leather, layered fabrics such as quilts and velvets.

Designed with it's own set of feed teeth, the walking even dual presser sewing foot is armed to give an even feed on the top of the fabric while the swing machine feeds the bottom.

The walking foot gets it's name because it actually walks the top layer of fabric along with the bottom keeping it even.

Velvet"s pile makes it incredibly difficult to sew without shifting layers.Reducing presser foot pressure will reduce press marks and sewing in the direction of the pile when joining seams will help.

Do you have a sticky situation? The walking even dual feed foot will help in these cases. Materials that tend to adhere to the presser foot will be easier to sew. Fabrics such as imitation suede, imitation leather and vinyl will not stick to the bottom of the walking foot.

Sometimes reducing foot pressure is not enough to remedy displacement problems on very thick or very stretchy knitted fabrics. The walking even presser foot often is the only answer!

If you want to look professional your seams and patterns have to match! No problem, just attach your walking even dual feed sewing presser foot and you patterns will match from start to finish.

By using the correct sewing foot, for your project you can get professional looking tailored results, every time you sew. - 30408
